OUR GECKOS

EASY TO CARE FOR, FULL OF CHARACTER, AND GREAT FOR KIDS, THESE ADORABLE CREATURES ARE THE PERFECT CHOICE FOR A FIRST PET.

LEOPARD GECKOS

Leopard geckos (Eublepharis macularius) are small, nocturnal lizards native to the arid regions of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and parts of India. They are easily recognizable by their distinctive spotted pattern, which resembles that of a leopard, and their large, expressive eyes. Unlike many other geckos, leopard geckos have movable eyelids and lack sticky toe pads, making them more terrestrial than arboreal. These hardy reptiles are popular pets due to their docile nature, relatively low maintenance needs, and fascinating behaviors, such as tail-wagging and vocalizations. They thrive in warm environments and can live up to 20 years in captivity with proper care.

CRESTED GECKOS

Crested geckos (Correlophus ciliatus) are arboreal lizards native to New Caledonia, a group of islands in the South Pacific. Known for the distinctive fringed crest that runs from their eyes to their tails, these geckos come in a variety of colors and patterns, making them popular in the pet trade. Crested geckos are nocturnal and rely on their sticky toe pads to climb and navigate through trees and foliage. They have a gentle disposition, making them great pets for both beginners and experienced reptile enthusiasts. Unlike many reptiles, crested geckos do not require specialized heating or lighting, and they thrive in moderate humidity levels. With proper care, they can live for 15-20 years in captivity.

GARGOYLE GECKOS

Gargoyle geckos (Rhacodactylus auriculatus) are striking, nocturnal lizards native to the forests of New Caledonia, an island group in the South Pacific. Named for their unique, bumpy appearance and prominent cranial ridges, which resemble the features of stone gargoyles, these geckos come in a range of colors and patterns, often featuring vibrant reds, oranges, and grays. Gargoyle geckos are arboreal, using their strong limbs and sticky toe pads to climb trees and branches with ease. They are known for their docile nature and are popular in the pet trade due to their relatively easy care requirements, thriving in moderate temperatures and humidity. With proper care, they can live up to 15-20 years in captivity.

MADAGASCAN GIANT DAY GECKOS

Madagascan giant day geckos (Phelsuma grandis) are vibrant, diurnal lizards native to the tropical rainforests of Madagascar. Known for their striking green coloration, often accented with bright red or blue markings, these geckos are among the largest in the day gecko family, reaching lengths of up to 12 inches. Unlike most geckos, they are active during the day, using their sticky toe pads to climb trees and navigate through dense foliage. These geckos are highly territorial and can be quite bold, making them fascinating to observe in captivity. They require a warm, humid environment and a diet that includes insects and fruit. With proper care, Madagascans can live for 10-15 years in captivity.

MOURNING GECKOS

Mourning geckos (Lepidodactylus lugubris) are small, nocturnal lizards found across various tropical regions, including Southeast Asia, the Pacific Islands, and parts of Central and South America. These fascinating geckos are known for their unique reproductive strategy—most are parthenogenetic, meaning they reproduce asexually, with all individuals being female. This allows them to establish populations quickly in new environments. Mourning geckos are typically light brown with darker markings, and they communicate with each other through soft chirps and clicks. In captivity, they are popular for their hardy nature and ability to thrive in a variety of conditions, making them suitable for beginners. They are social creatures and often do well in groups, living up to 10 years with proper care.
